PerfectClock 2007 is a highly customizable software displaying an unlimited number of world-time clocks on the desktop.
Pros: PerfectClock 2007 allows a nice way of keeping track of time anywhere in the world. In this time of increased globalization working with a distributed team is becoming the norm. For making this work one may need to keep track of time in different time zones in US, eastern Europe, Russia and may be India.
Trying to keep track of time by doing mental conversion can get to be highly confusing. Instead this application gives the user a means to create as many clocks as are required and set them to different time zones to keep track of local time at all these places.
As for the basic time synchronization, that is accomplished through atomic time servers available on the net. Thus the times maintained are always in sync and accurate. One can then set the time zone each clock is representing. These clock faces could be locked together to stay at one place or locked so that they can be moved as a group. There are several other options such as if the clock face should remain always on top of all other windows and so on.
There are several options about the clock face skins. One could choose from the given collection, download a range of wallpaper skins or download a range of clock faces contributed by users or create one of your own. Most known clock faces can be replicated as the skin engine has the tools to do that.
Cons: It would be really useful if each clock could be labeled as what time the specific clock face is displaying. It is likely you’d create a few clock faces once you get the hang of using this program. Remember though that it takes quite a bit of CPU time to maintain these clocks and could be quite a drag if you have 3 or more clocks running at a time.
Overall rating for this application is 4 stars.
